Only when you’ve lost everything, can you find yourself.
Over the past couple of months, I’ve lost of things that are important to me, and most of all, I’ve lost myself a little bit through this whole ordeal. But the silver lining in this grey cloud is that I’ve learned a lot. A lot of harsh realities, but also a lot of enlightening things.
- I’ve learned that we are responsible for what we do, no matter how we feel.
- I’ve learned that patience will oftentimes bring me the answer.
- I’ve learned that even good friends come and go. Only a few great friends will last a lifetime.
- I’ve learned that every experience that touches and tears at my heart will either make me a smaller person or a stronger person. And I have to fight for it to be the latter.
- I’ve learned that sometimes making mistakes is a necessary part of growth.
- I’ve learned that nothing could give me a change in perspective quite like traveling can.
- I’ve learned that freeing my mind from worries opens it up to be filled with much more productive thoughts.
- I’ve learned that sometimes the people I expected to kick me down are the ones who will help me get back up. And sometimes the people I expect to be there for me, won’t, when it’s not convenient for them.
- I’ve learned that setting aside time for personal development activities is one of the most rewarding things I can do for myself.
- I’ve learned that simply being grateful can do wonders for my happiness. And so can giving generously.
