Montreal - The Weeknd
Happiness exists when you don’t know a thing
So I hope you don’t think this song is about you
And only I can know how close you came
Baby I’m a pro at letting go
I love when they come and go
Echoes of Silence is killer.
Jon and I decided to take a farewell trip to Montreal for the long weekend. Neither of us have been for so long that it was like seeing the city with fresh eyes.

We came at Montreal pretty hard by renting Bixi bikes right away and hiking non-stop uphill to Mont Royal.

After a mishap with the Bixi bikes we rented (there was no station to return them in the entire friggin park and we get charged for the bikes by the half hour LOL), we hiked to the top of the Kondiaronk Belvedere to get a great view down on the city.

The platform had a really cute chalet and ice cream men offering you sweet sweet relief from a hot day and a long hike. Mmm good times. =)

By the way we hiked down the mountain and were back at Lac aux Castors, it was sunset. The lake had a totally different feel, and made for a more intimate stroll. ;)

On our way back home, we stumbled across the St Joseph Oratory, which shined like a beacon in the night time.

The view of the city from the balcony of the oratory was spectacular. What a good find!

Here’s me and the mystery man I was with that night. Thanks. (I’m so bitter. My camera has amazing image stabilization too, lol.)

We grabbed a late dinner at Dundees (hehehe) on a sidewalk table and checked out all the hot chicks that passed us by, and there was no shortage of them. Light drinking to wrap the night up. =)

The next day, we rolled into Old Montreal for brunch at Marche de la Villette. My jambon fromage crepe was better in presentation than taste. =P

After brunch, we did a walkaround in Old Montreal and strolled into Old Port on a lovely afternoon.
Lo-and-behold, we stumbled upon some weird dress up boat orgy.

Not really sure what to make of it… lol.

Anyways… we went to walk the rest of Old Montreal. Lovely area. Buskers, ice cream shoppes, cafes and all that jazz, everywhere.

The only poutine I had in Montreal (from Mountreal Poutine) was thoroughly thoroughly disappointing. =(

Dinner, though, was not! We went to this nice place called Barocco, and I had an amazing branzini (fish) dish!

Probably one of the most well-done fish dishes I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a lot of fish!
We FINALLY talked Helen into having a little bit of fun and she agreed to playing drinking games with us… all the way til, like, 12:30am? Wow AM??? You’re too wild for us, Helen.
